Welcome Junior Boarding Family 2023

Welcome back to our existing Junior boarders and a special welcome to our new families that join us this year. We have 60 boarders in total from Year 7 to Year 9 on the hill and the place is 'buzzing' with much enthusiasm and excitement. Term One is all about transition and this includes all stakeholders, our son/s, families, staff and the St Gregory's College community at large. Nevertheless, I can assure you that your son is in the right place and the Boarding Team and I grateful to be entrusted with caring for your son/s.

Homesickness

Homesickness is completely normal in boarding, especially for our new Junior boarders commencing their journey. Homesickness affects our boys in different ways and at different times, for instance, some of our Senior boarders still experience this feeling and have offered their support to the Juniors in the past week.

Can I please encourage our new families to limit your calls at this stage as the boys are adjusting. Furthermore, provide your son/s with reassurance that all is fine at home and you are awaiting their return to hear about their experience.
