Junior Boarding Update

New Junior Boarders

A warm and special welcome to Jackson Niamrin (Year 7) and Lleon McLean (Year 8) and their family. The Boarding Team and I are grateful to have an enthusiastic and diverse group of young men to work with this year. Furthermore, we are fortunate to have supportive families and a great community working collectively to provide the best for our fine young men.

Sunday Breakfast is Family Time

Every Sunday morning the boys cook a BBQ breakfast, eat together and clean up together to begin their day. Sunday mornings are special as the boys are not distracted by their devices, rather are encouraged to interact and appreciate the simple things that they take for granted. Sharing a meal is at the heart of our Marist identity and the boys are reminded that we are brothers united as "one heart and one mind".

The Fingal boys are very blessed to have Deklin, Ky and Sebastian in the House as they enjoy cooking breakfast. These boys are always at the grill first thing in the morning to serve a hearty grilled breakfast for the House.

Valens Oztag

Valens have entered 2 teams into the Camden Oztag competition and played their first game this week. Both our 'St Greg's Teams' were victorious and are looking forward to their game next week. The boys are challenged to ensure that their participation in the Oztag competition does not interfere with their study, therefore, this may entail missing a game or undertaking extra study in their 'free time'.

As mentioned, I feel very blessed to work with such amazing families and I would like to extend my thanks to the Dorahy family for organising Oztag for our boys, which also includes their awesome playing kit (the boys love their jersey!).

God Bless,

Tevita
