Week 1

It was great to meet our new boarders and their family joining Valens in 2021, and welcome back to our Year 8 boarders. This week was a short week and it has been information overload for our new brothers. Nevertheless, the boys are smiling and taking each day at a time. Its pleasing to see the boys from last year offer their support to the new boarders, which makes the transition into boarding life much easier.

The boys experienced the following:

- Student induction day and their very first timetabled day

- ISA Basketball trials/training

- Sporting activities in Br. Luke Hall, in the Cricket nets and on the oval

- Swim and fun in the College pool

- Trip to Macarthur Square

- Day at Gunnamatta Bay

- First Boarders Mass of 2021

There have been many positive changes in Boarding and I am excited about the year ahead. Next week the boys will undertake their very first full week as a student and boarder – its time to get in the grind and do some hard yakka.
