Valens Planner

Dear Valens Family,

How amazing are our boys?! A lot has been requested of them this term and we are already in the second half of Term 3. As of tomorrow there are three weeks remaining and the message is simple for our boys – ‘finish strong’. The Valens boys have received assessment notifications for each subject and managing the workload is pivotal. The following are some recommendations:

• Have a planner that is visible in your son’s room that displays due dates. Attached is a PDF: ‘Valens Planner’ for the remaining weeks that you can print off:

• Plan collaboratively with your son using their diary and break down each assessment task and schedule when each step will be completed (this can be done in pencil so changes can be made as needed)

• The Valens Planner can act as a diary for the remaining weeks as it is most likely that your son's College diary is in the boarding House.

• Your son can also use their outlook calendar and their phone as an additional planner that can include set reminders.

• Check in with your son’s progress and refer to the planner. It is likely that your son will feel overwhelmed at some point and adjustments to the planner will be needed.

If your son has any questions in relation to the task please encourage them to email their teacher for clarification. Further, we are in the process of finalising an online tutoring schedule to assist our boys, nevertheless, the Boarding Team and I are always available to offer our support.

I am very proud of our boys and their contribution to family life and remote online learning. Next week I will be meeting with the boys as a whole House rather than in small groups and I will continue the ‘catch up’ calls. Feel free to contact me at anytime if you have any concerns.
